NIIT CHAIRMAN Mr.R.S. Pawar gets Padma Bhushan Award

NIIT has truly entered the New Year with a Bang! Into our 30th year of developing talent across 40 countries, it gives me great pleasure and immense pride to say that our beloved Chairman, Raji Pawar has been named as Padma Bhushan awardee for the year 2010-11.

This very prestigious national recognition has been conferred on Raji for revolutionizing the IT landscape in India.
Padma Bhushan Awards, one of the country’s highest civilian honours, are awarded for distinguished service of high order. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year, and are conferred by the President of India at a function held at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in March/ April.
Set up in 1981, NIIT pioneered the computer education market in India, creating a completely new industry segment and taking it to consolidation and maturity. Raji played a leadership role in nurturing NIIT and building it into a leading Global Talent Development Corporation.

All this however, would not have been possible without the continuous support and relentless efforts of all NIITians, past and present.

So let us all come together to congratulate Raji on receiving the Padma Bhushan Award. It is indeed a proud moment for all of us, as our contribution to the IT Industry in India is recognized and cheered by 1.2 billion Indians this Republic Day.
